How credits work
What credits are, what they're spent on, and how to top up.
Credits are how Selected Credits meters its AI-powered features. Every time you use one of those features, that action consumes some number of credits.
What credits are spent on
Almost every AI action costs 1 credit, with one exception called out below.
In the Leads tab
- Import a lead from a URL — 1 credit to parse the URL, or 2 credits if you also ask us to find the production's key contacts in the same step.
- Find Contacts on a film card — 1 credit. Discovers directors, producers, music supervisors, and other key people attached to the production.
- Enrich a contact — 1 credit per contact. Pulls their website, email, social handles, IMDb, LinkedIn, etc.
- Enrich All on a film — 1 credit per contact, since it enriches each one.
- Find Sources — 1 credit. Surfaces recent news articles and press coverage about the film.
In the lead discovery sidebar
- AI-powered discovery search — 1 credit per search.
In the profile tab
- Find Credits — 1 credit. Auto-discovers your film/TV credits from your name or website.
- Find My Socials — 1 credit. Looks up your Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and other social profiles in one pass.
- Find My Platforms — 1 credit. Looks up your role-specific platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, Vimeo Showcase, ShotDeck, etc.) in one pass.
What's free
Building portfolios, browsing your existing leads, sending reach-outs (the message itself — generating the body with AI costs credits, sending it doesn't), uploading or managing assets, and everything else in Selected Credits is free of credit cost. Credits are exclusively for AI lookups and generations.

Allowances reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits don't roll over — your balance resets to your tier's monthly allowance each cycle regardless of how many you carried.
What happens when you run out
AI-powered features pause until your next monthly reset. The button for any credit-gated action becomes inactive with a note explaining you're out, and everything else in Selected Credits keeps working normally — you can keep building portfolios, browsing leads, sending reach-outs, and managing assets while you wait. If you need credits sooner, upgrading your tier takes effect immediately and refills your balance to the new tier's monthly allowance.
Credits and account resets
If you reset your account from Account → Reset Account, your credit balance is preserved — only your data (leads, portfolios, assets, reach outs, profile) is wiped.
